5 Shifts companies must make regarding their workplace strategy

I discovered this great article by Keith Perske – titled “5 Shifts Companies Must make in the Next 5 Years”.
He refers to the concept of using a new workplace design as business strategy for improvement –or disruption to use the current “in” term. I totally agree with his core message – that workplaces are changing and will continue to change as technology and people advance together.

Our experience with organisations introducing new workplaces is that change management is finally seen to be a critical component of introducing a different workplace. Some change support is better than nothing I suppose.

However, change support typically does not extend past the “move in date”, and we know that within 6 months the people who are in the new workspace are busy reverting to their old behaviours and habits. This is costly and drives ROI down significantly.

Hopefully within the 5 year forecast that Keith refers to, post move in support and ongoing relevant leadership will also be in the frame.
